Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO Director says there is lack of response by the police and judiciary about issues of rape.
Edmond Yakani told Radio Bakhita that there are no professional investigators and few judges in judiciary though the laws of South Sudan considered rape as one of the worst criminal cases.
Mr Yakani cites high dowry, too much drinking of alcohol by males as causes of rape forcing them to immoral acts and that the solution is involvement of schools and churches and other institutions to enlighten South Sudanese masses.
The Director urges rape victims to speak out for the crime to be known, calling on all South Sudanese to stop rape as it is a serious criminal offence not a taboo.
