The national government is preparing to award medals to leaders who supported SPLM/A during the liberation struggle that brought South Sudan Independence.
Government Spokesperson Michael Makuei on Friday told press in Juba that the cabinet directs the organizing committee to prepare medals for world leaders who supported the Movement to achieve its freedom goal.
He says martyrs’ families and veterans would also be awarded medals on May 16, marking SPLA Day to recognize and appreciate the role played by individuals during the liberation journey.
The spokesperson says the cabinet instructs the organizing committee to make the medals ready before the two occasions.
