Liquid Telecom Kenya connected Kenya Commercial Bank or KCB’s 24 branches in South Sudan with a wide area network satellite technology for faster and more efficient banking services to customers.

Liquid Telecom Kenya Chief Executive Officer Ben Roberts says limited ICT infrastructure hampered regional banking institutions and businesses, as many had to spend extra to set up ATMs and internal connections.

He adds that Very Small Aperture Technology or VSAT services are closing this gap by providing quality uninterrupted service to enable the branches access Internet links to the satellite communication network, easing them to talk to each other in real time.

In East Africa, VSAT services are playing a key role in bringing services closer to the people, with the provision of seamless connectivity within the banks.
