Youth during the second training on Youth Mobile applications development appeal to Google to open Applications store for South Sudan.
In a statement CRN obtained on Sunday the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO says each of the 45 youth were appreciated with a 3GB internet modem from Zain loaded with mobile data by Zain South Sudan, including three students awarded with smart phones.
UNESCO Juba Head of Office and Country Representative Salah Khaled, informed the participants that the mobile applications play a big role as an interactive communication platform for the various sectors in the new nation.
He encourages the youth to develop applications that can also empower people with disabilities in South Sudan.
The second training was organized by UNESCO and Zain South Sudan in partnership with The Dev School based in Nairobi as a follow-up to the Youth Mobile initiative launched in South Sudan in August 2013 where 43 young South Sudanese were trained on how to develop mobile applications.
