Heavy rainfall in Eastern Equatoria State affected Greater Kapoeta Counties, washing away a bridge connecting Kapoeta South and Kapoeta East leading to Kenya.
State Information Acting Minister Ochan John Bongomin Nono on Monday says Singaita River was filled up with tree branches due to the flooding, making it impassable by vehicles, Radio Emmanuel reported.
The minister appeals to citizens to be patient while his physical infrastructure counterpart works ways of rescuing the situation, warning that if the situation is not arrested on time, people of Kapoeta and Kenya would be cut off from South Sudan.
Eastern Equatoria State was experiencing heavy rainfall since last month.
