Journalists’ human right reporting training concludes in Juba

United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS Human Rights Unit in partnership with Union of Journalist of South Sudan or UJOSS and Albany Associates concluded the four-day human rights reporting training to Central Equatoria State journalists.
 
In his closing remarks, UJOSS Chairman Oliver Modi Philip calls on journalists to put the knowledge they learnt into practice and that the new skill should positive impact to the general public for the betterment of the nation, Radio Bakhita reported.
 
Mr Modi says the Union would continue to protect journalists to reach the international standard while Association of Media Development in South Sudan focuses on training.
 
Mr Modi discloses a plan to send the Union Secretary-General Edward Lodu Terso to join the world in the commemoration of the World Press Freedom Day in Riga, Latvia.
 
The four-day training that started on Tuesday and concluded on Friday under the theme: ‘Promotion and protection of human rights in media coverage in South Sudan’, attracted 40 journalists from all media houses in Central Equatoria and other states.
