US pledges 16 Million Dollars for aid in South Sudan

United States or US Agency for International Development of USAID South Sudan Director announced 16 million Dollars pledge for humanitarian assistance to South Sudanese conflict-affected people.
 
Teresa McGhie on Thursday told the press that the money would be used for nutrition, shelter, and health services.
 
She said the assistance underscores US long standing with the people of South Sudan and that now US exceeds one billion Dollars in support to the young country.
 
The Director notes that about three million South Sudanese are facing extreme hunger, warning that the number would reach 3.5 by June.
