Yei Mayor says that high food prices in the municipality are causing food insecurity due to lack of hard currency, describing the market situation as worse compared to previous months.
Santo Paul Lasuba appeals to traders not to raise prices up abnormally for the common people to afford food at the markets, Radio Easter reported.
The Mayor accompanied by heads of departments, Chamber of Commerce and security organs assessed Yei’s biggest market of Dar Salam to find out complains being raised by sellers and consumers in the market.
