Western Equatoria Women General Union in a meeting on Tuesday discussed on how to find solutions on gender-based violence issues, including husbands killing their wives on mere misunderstanding that could be resolved amicably at the family level.

Chairlady Christine Joseph Ngbaazande says the rate of the practice increase on daily bases in the state, describing it as a big challenge, Radio Anisa reported.

She recounts organizing several meetings to educate women on their duties and responsibilities both at family and community levels in the state for the past eight months since she took office.

The chairlady says the Women General Union’s second monthly meeting brought together 50 participants both ordinary, church women, leaders including MPs.
