Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop encourages citizens in the Diocese and Western Equatoria State to cultivate more food this year to fight hunger.
Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala in his homily on Sunday at St Mary Yambio Cathedral Parish, attributes the high prices of commodities in the markets to scarcity of US Dollars as South Sudan is a food importing country, Radio Anisa reported.
He advises people to plant variety of local crops including beans, rice vegetables, groundnuts, cassava and cash crops, challenging that laziness leads people to steal rather than focusing on agriculture to be sustainable.
In other news development, Bishop Hiiboro advises people to do some exercise for the body to be health, saying sport is very important and contributes in the development of the nation.
He urges people to support Villa United Football Club because it represents Western Equatoria State in many national competitions.
