Public University lecturers adjourn strike

The public Universities General Assembly on Monday adjourns the strike that started early February to July, following President Salva Kiir’s appeal for lecturers to to resume work until things improved in the country.
 
University of Juba Academic Staff Association Acting President Philip Finish Apollo told journalists that they met with the general assembly concerning the strike and agreed to hold off strike.
 
He adds that they adjourn the strike due the new developments of the new salary structure passed from the council of ministers to the parliament for approval, describing it as positive development.
 
South Sudan public universities excluding Rumbek carried out a strike early February, demanding for their arrears.
