Yei Municipality in Central Equatoria State has ordered immediate arrest and fining of children below 18 years found loitering in night clubs, video halls or hotels.

Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba directs security organs to implement the order by charging violators including business owners, parents and children with at least three thousand South Sudanese Pounds each, Radio Easter reported.

He adds that parents shall bail out arrested children from cells at two thousand South Sudanese Pounds.

The mayor has also issued another order directing restaurants and bars selling alcoholic drinks to operate 2: PM.

Mayor Paul says the order is meant to encourage productivity as opposed to redundancy.

Yei Civil Society Organization Forum has welcomed the mayoral move, calling for full implementation.
