United Nations Resident Coordinator and United Nations Development Programs or UNDP recommends continuous investment in South Sudan amidst war.

Christina Hiemastra in a statement argues that it makes sense to invest in the country by carrying out development programmes in key sectors such as agriculture, education and health.

She observes that agriculture, education and health support South Sudanese to be food secure, educated and healthy.

The Coordinator argues that peace and security are central requirements for South Sudan and its people to prosper; stressing the need to invest in the long-term development.

She says medium and long-term investments complement ongoing short-term response to humanitarian needs.

Coordinator Hiemastra hails the international donor community for engagement in bettering South Sudan.
