South Sudan Council Churches or SSCC announces that it is determined once again to take a leading role in bringing peace to the country.
In a statement CRN obtained, the Council of Churches says it has new leadership and a fresh commitment from the heads of churches united as one Church to bring peace.
The Church believes that the starting point for peace and reconciliation is the people of South Sudan, but not the political parties.
It stresses that there is no moral justification to continue fighting to kill.
The Church says it is unacceptable to negotiate about posts, positions and percentages, systems of governance and wealth-sharing while people are being killed.
It calls for an immediate end to fighting and discussion of the political matters in a meaningful manner.
