Lainya County of Central Equatoria State Medical Officer is demanding government to employ sufficient medical staff to ease overloading work in carrying out HIV awareness campaigns.
Morris Samuel says HIV awareness activities have declined following the departure of non-governmental organizations with their entire workforce after expiry of contracts, Radio Easter reported.
He appeals for the return of development partners and government to build the capacity of the limited available staff to improve service delivery.
The official discloses that a surgical team is carrying out operation services to gynecological cases in the county.
He says over 400 patients have been operated successfully, adding that the team remains determined to continue serving for more ten days.
The Medical Officer made the statement on Thursday.
