Dollar shortage forces Yei businessmen to close down operation

The Chamber of Commerce in Yei County of Central Equatoria State reports that traders are closing down business operation due to lack of hard currency.
 
Yei’s Deputy Chairperson Chamber Of Commerce Jacob Taban told Radio Easter that lack of access to US Dollars from the commercial banks affects international transaction, calling government intervention.
 
In the black market, the exchange rate stands at 7.5 South Sudanese Pounds per one hundred dollar.
