Winners of the Nile Media Awards 2015 of the Nile Basin Initiative or NBI would be announced at the Awards Presentation Gala Dinner expected in June in Tanzania.
NBI Secretariat announced the Awards 2015 in December, 2014 with a deadline for submission of entries on March 31 preceded by the 23rd annual Nile Council of Ministers meeting.
It seeks to promote increased, factual and accurate reporting on issues related to the Nile Basin cooperation.
The Awards also aaming at presenting an opportunity to NBI to recognize journalists for outstanding reporting.
Deutsche Welle Akademie, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, Global Water Partnership Eastern Africa and the Nile Basin Discourse organized Nile Media Awards 2015 .
