Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD on Friday in Addis Ababa signed an agreement with the German government and International Livestock Research Institute for implementation of drought resilience programs earmarked to cost millions of Euros in member states.
The agreement is expected to attract 13 million Euros to IGAD member states including South Sudan, Radio Bakhita reported.
The expected grant brings German total aid for drought resilience in the region to 65 million Euros.
The International Livestock Research Institute provides transformation of rural lives and livelihoods to improve local markets and performance of the livestock sector.
