Anisono Development Agency or ADA completed training of 28 people on gender-based violence in Li-Rangu Payam of Yambio County, Western Equatoria State.

ADA facilitator Emanuel Uku said many cultural beliefs contribute to the increase of gender-based violence, advising men to respect women in every society, Radio Anisa reported.

He said effective training would help people at the grass root to build peaceful coexistence.

ADA Director Fr Santo Gabba said violence against women or girls in the family destroys children’s future.

Participants’ representative Bakote Pasqual Mario attributed people’s ignorance about right decision making to lack of proper education in Li-Rangu Payam.

ADA is a community-based organization in Western Equatoria, focusing on human rights, gender based violence and peace programs to educate men, women and children to choose peace at all levels in the State and South Sudan.
