Western Bahr El-Ghazal State Assembly reopened on Wednesday after nearly half a year recess following disputes which ended up with the impeachment of speaker Andrea Mayor Acho and election of his successor Mario Nyibong John last month.

Speaker Nyibong while addressing the house at the opening session said it is a high time the assembly speaks one voice to address the rising fronts of both political and social spheres in the state.

Governor Rizig Zachariah called for unity by narrowing ways for setbacks because Western Bahr El Ghazal went through bitter moments of political, economic and social challenges.

MP Abraham Dimo said controversy in the assembly is apolitical play and does not mean giving up the race, calling upon colleagues who left the state to return because citizens need their voices in the house.

Other members in the Assembly remained reserved on why some of their members left the state.
