Torit Assembly tasks government to reduce repeat of Owinykibul conflict

Eastern Equatoria State Assembly on Monday tasked the government to mitigate recurrence of conflict between civilians and military at Owinykibul area.
 
Owinykibul Member of Parliament or MP Peter Otim Karlo reports an incident that left one person dead, others injured and lots of property destroyed or looted, Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
MP Lobuya observes that Owinykibul which lies along the green belt needs secure atmosphere to produce enough food.
 
He also calls for relocation of cattle from the crop growing region to avoid destruction.
 
MP Lobuya adds that the military training wing should be fenced to limit unnecessary movement of recruits to civil population.
 
The law makers also task the government to relocate military training instructors from civilian residence.
