Donors ready to support South Sudan

The Undersecretary of Commerce, Trade and Investment Ministry said donors expressed their readiness to support South Sudan and that a 1.5 million US Dollars’ project is underway for capacity building and setting regulatory framework.
 
Simon Nyang Anei who returned from the World Trade Organization Summit in Geneva, Switzerland on Sunday, told the press that another five million US Dollar’s project would be considered for the construction of border custom offices.
 
The Undersecretary said they submitted to the Organization 12 project proposals of cement, sugar factories and oil mills among others.
 
He disclosed that South Sudan would soon join the World Trade Organization after its leadership is recognized of being able to resolve the country’s challenging situation and security problems.
 
Mr Nyang said donors called for transparency and restoration of peace in the country.
