South Sudan, Sudan agree on Escrow Account for border demarcation

South Sudan and Sudan Joint Border Commission on March 18, 2015 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia signed an agreement for the establishment of an Escrow Account to meet the cost of boundary demarcation.
 
CRN has learnt that South Sudan’s Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth and Sudan’s State Presidency Minister Dr Al Rasheed Haroun Adam sealed the accord.
 
The two Sudans also adopted the final list of Joint Technical Team members consisting of surveyors, cartographers and other relevant experts from each state as proposed by the Joint Border Commission session of February 7-8, 2015 in Juba.
 
The agreement signing marks a new step in the implementation of the Cooperation Agreements signed between South Sudan and Sudan in September 2012 under the auspices of the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel.
