South Sudan Supreme Court Chief Justice said they postponed political parties’ court hearing because they need for some clarifications from plaintive and the defender to be submitted before March 27.

Chan Reec Madut on Friday said they would like the plaintive advocate to provide the court in writing whether the political parties are aware of whether the party’s council commenced its duties or not.

The Justice Chief said the Court needs the defenders to clarify whether the council of ministers canceled the declaration, abandoned, postponed or extended it.

Justice Reec said the court would want to hear the date of establishment of the political party’s council by the presidential decree, whether it started its duties, developed registration program.

He announced that the next sitting is expected to be on April 27 to decide on the clarification because each member is required to study the case and prepare his opinion.

The political parties last year sued to court the National Elections Commission after insisting to go ahead with general elections when the country is undergoing conflict.
