The President of the Republic in SPLM public rally on Wednesday ridiculed public university lecturers for striking, expecting them and other intellectuals to understand the conditions facing South Sudan better than the rest in the country.
Salva Kiir Mayardit challenged South Sudanese elites to prove their mind by suggesting solutions to address the country’s troubles instead of hurting young generation upon which future leadership depends.
President Kiir told lecturers to call off their strikes and that their arrears’ payment worth 40 million Pounds could only be possible after settlement of South Sudan crisis and global economic fall of oil prices.
The President and SPLM/A in Opposition leader Dr Riek Machar Teny on March 5 failed to compromise on security arrangement, governance, power and wealth sharing in a proposed transitional government of national unity.
