Political parties’ representative rejected a proposal to remove Vice President James Wani Igga in exchange for peace by becoming the third in command.
Martin Elia Lomurö told SPLM public rally on Wednesday at Dr John Garang mausoleum meant for standing together for peace that political parties want Wani Igga to remain on top of armed opposition leader Riek Machar Teny.
He added that political parties want lasting peace without rewarding war lords and position mongers to avoid another conflict.
Dr Lomur√∂ criticized the international community’s reports on human rights violation in South Sudan, saying they should first address violations in Syria, Israel, Darfur, Blue Nile and Nuba Mountains.
Apostolic Archbishop of Middle East, Bahjat Batransha prayed for world leaders to change hearts and come to help South Sudanese instead of sanctioning its leaders.
He also prayed for peace, forgiveness and reconciliation, consoling South Sudanese that peace is possible through prayers to God.
