The former spokesperson of the SPLM/A in opposition expressed optimism that the people of greater Akobo would get an administrative area soon.
Brigadier General Lul Ruai Koang said the marginalized 500,000 population of Akobo is enough to establish an administrative area, Radio Bakhita reported.
Brigadier Ruai who broke away from the SPLM/A in opposition last month said he aligned with the government in search for peace in Akobo and the whole country.
David Yau Yau after fighting the government was given Greater Pibor Administrative Area.
If Akobo becomes an administrative area, Jonglei state would be divided into three separate administrations.
