Western Bahr El Ghazal Governor appreciated state cabinet for the procedures taken last week on Monday during police protest over three months salaries that left four people dead and five others wounded.
Rizik Zachariah Hassan appreciated the council of ministers’ step, describing it as wise decision, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
State Deputy Governor Zachariah Joseph Garang briefed the Governor after his arrival from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Wednesday on current situations.
He explained that the incident forced state leadership to call for military interference to protect public institutions, adding that unpaid salaries, politically motivated and weakness of police administration were the main reasons behind the protest.
Wau town witnessed police protest early March over three month payment leading to blocking of the main gate of the headquarters and firing bullets into air which caused panic among citizens.
