Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop on Tuesday commended St Luke the Evangelist Yangiri parishioners for sending contributions to their sons who are priests assigned to other parishes.
Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala said Christians of Yangiri Parish are demonstrating their commitments and faith in action to support their sons who are serving in the vineyard of the Lord, Radio Anisa reported.
He advised Yangiri parishioners to continue caring and collaborating among themselves and their parish priest.
Yangiri Parish Priest Elario Bazia Boro said they came to visit Frs Michael Katawa and Ignatius Mborihenga Director of Radio Anisa also Parish of Holy Family Yambio.
The Parish Priest explained that they brought food items including one sack of groundnuts, cassava flour, maize, millet flour and some cash among others.
One of the recipient priests Ignatius Mborihenga appreciated his home parishioners who continue to give good hands to their sons who choose priesthood, saying their support would boost priests’ faith.
State MP representing Yangiri Constituency Monoko Rudolf Leone said Yangiri parishioners resolved that every year they would contribute both food items and cash as an offer to their priests.
He invited the Bishop Hiiboro to visit their parish.
This is the second time Yangiri parishioners brought their contribution to their priests and the Bishop in the Diocese.
