Western Equatoria State Education minister expressed optimism that the national inter-school competition would take place in Yambio despite delay.

Pia Philip Michael told Radio Anisa that the competition’s exact time is not identified yet, reassuring the public that the tournament would not fail because it is government’s big investment.

He explained that the national Education ministry is following up with its Finance counterpart to fund the remaining phases of the competitions.

Minister Philip disclosed that phase one completed with renovation of Gbudue Stadium, Yambio Cultural Center and some schools, while the second phase is underway to establish electricity and water points in all places of accommodation.

He appealed to students to prepare well because three thousand children are expected from all ten states including Abyei and Greater Pibor Administrative Areas.
