Wau Mayor in Western Bahr El Ghazal on Monday presented his first policy statement putting security as the first priority of the municipal authority.
Livio Gelego Bahara pledged to work hand in hand with the police administration to maintain safety of citizens and their property, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
He proposed establishment of new police stations and deployment of more forces to cover markets and some places suspected of having high number of criminals.
Mr Gelego also revealed that his administration also planned to construct new municipal council headquarter as a second priority.
