Wau Mayor in Western Bahr El Ghazal while presenting his policy statement to the Municipal Legislative Council on Monday said they set aside 1.7 million South Sudanese Pounds for fixing solar powered system to light main markets of Jaw, Wau and Souk Hajar this year.
Livio Gelego Bahara said the lighting project would scare thieves who take advantage of darkness to break into shops, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
He disclosed plans to invest on projects that would bring direct income to the municipal treasury including renovation of government slaughter house, establishment of gardens, opening of parking stations and construction of stores and shops for traders.
