Two priests of Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese on Sunday celebrated their silver jubilee while a religious sister observed her golden jubilee at St Mary Tombura Parish.
Tombura-Yambio Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro who presided over the mass, urged Christians to thank God for the gifts of Sister Jacinta Dagbaaboro for serving the Lord for 50 years and Frs Marko Kumbonyaki and Francis Anida Bendele who worked for 25 years in priesthood, Radio Anisa reported.
He appreciated the families of Sr Jacinta Dagbaaboro and Fr Marko and Bendele who chose to live simple lives to serve God’s people despite challenges.
Fr Kumbonyeki testified that it was a call of God for people to see salvation though they face many challenges in the vineyard of the Lord more especially during the Sudan civil war.
The celebrants advised their fellow priests and sisters to be committed to their work because God gives different work to people.
They also advised seminarians and aspirants to chose simple life and be polite for people will learn from them.
