Eighteen South Sudan Political parties on Friday alarmed the nation that any peace agreement reached in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia without addressing the root causes of current conflict is a courtship for another more furious war outbreak.

Political Parties’ Information Secretary David William Tut read out a critical document about Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD’s inconsistent role of shifting positions without good reasons; citing the issue of premiership and vice presidency.

The political parties wondered why the warring parties should focus on power sharing at the expenses of thousands of citizens massacred.

The parties said the last four peace talk sessions discussed ‘nothing but positions among the warring parties, yet the burning issues of corruption, atrocious crimes, and critical reforms of governance, economy and in the security sector’ were ignored.

The political signatories among them Dr Lam Akol Ajawin of the SPLM for Democratic Change or SPLM-DC express deep concerns reminding the general public that there are no genuine negotiations for peace in Addis Ababa.

The political parties finger point at IGAD mediation as the responsible architect for any failure to keep on track for a realistic political settlement in South Sudan.
