Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop called for full respect to mothers for teaching love, and care and promoting peace and unity in the society.
Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala in his New Year homily on Thursday in Yambio, said people should obey and listen to mothers as the Catholic liturgy dedicates the first of January every year to Mary Mother of Jesus, Radio Anisa reported.
The Bishop urged all South Sudanese to learn from the mother of Christ the message of love she gives out to her children to be peaceful and loving.
He prayed that all women should prepare their boys not to grow with hatred.
