The Minority leader in the National Legislative Assembly on Monday rejected national government’s plan of conducting general elections in 2015 without peace in the country.
Onyoti Adigo Nyikwec argued that peace is paramount for South Sudanese, not positions, hopping that the warring parties come to their minds to stop the ‘senseless’ war.
MP Adigo hopes 2015 would be the year of peace so that South Sudan has a different term.
He called on citizens to live in peace, accept and forgive one another as brothers and sisters.
SPLM-DC Chairman Lam Akol Ajawin criticized the government for allocating 1.5 billion South Sudanese Pounds on what he termed ‘meaningless’ elections that would not be recognized worldwide.
Dr Akol called on the warring parties to concentrate on peace as the only guarantee for a stable country.
