Western Bahr El Ghazal State Education Minister on Monday issued a local order naming four Boarding Secondary Schools and appointed their headmasters expected to start in 2015.
Michael Madut Chan named Boro Boarding Secondary and appointed Musa Awad Somit its acting head teacher and named Sopo Boarding School with Joseph Anthony Yango as its head teacher, both in Raja County.
The minister also appointed Awad Nyang as acting head teacher of Udici Boarding School in Jur River County and William Julu to head Tadu Boarding School in Wau County.
The Minister said the aim of putting boarding schools in rural areas is to limit long movements of students for them to concentrate on studies.
Mr Madut said the boarding schools would help fight tribalism as students of different tribes would mix freely and learn from each other and get encouraged to take science subjects in future.
The minister said the two boarding schools of Udici and Tadu would only accommodate girls while Sopo and Boro take boys.
The Minister said the budget for renovating the schools was availed and that work on the ground would start immediately after Christmas.
