Lakes Legislative Assembly Speaker called on citizens in the state and the whole country to forgive one another and celebrate Christmas and the New Year in peace and unity.

Bai Path Majuec said it was time for people to reconcile and live peacefully in 2015 because the state and the country are fed up of war, Radio Good News reported.

the Speaker said inter-ethnic and revenge killings affected Lakes in 2014 and that lack of respect for rule of law was the major obstacle to peace in the state, hoping that 2015 becomes the year of peace in South Sudan.

He challenged the government and SPLM/A in Opposition to show seriousness in the Addis Ababa negotiations to realize citizens’ desires for peace.

The Speaker warned that development would never be achieved unless South Sudanese accept to live peacefully with one another.
