Bangasi beats St Joseph Minor Seminary in debate competition

Bangasi Academy Secondary students on Friday won a debate competition against St Joseph Minor Seminarians in a motion entitled ‘High technology advancement has destroyed Africa’.
 
The Chief Judge of the debate, a Professor of Solidarity Teachers Training College declared that Bangasi Students who opposed the motion scored 102 out of 125, while the Seminarians proposers scored 79 out of 125, Anisa Radio reported.
 
Bangasi Students mentioned that Africa is developing through easy transportation, money transfer systems, good roads and bridges among others, meanwhile the Seminarians proposed the motion citing that so many people die in accidents, industrial pollutions and taking away of original African cultures among others.
 
Seminarian Cabinet Minister for Education Elinama Simon Kpatakpa said the debate was to know each other, create friendship and unity among students of Bangasi and Abangite where the seminarians are studying.
 
His opponent of Bangasi Clement Juma Lexon expressed happiness for this first kind of debate, encouraging it to continue among other schools because it prepares students to future leaderships and make new friendships.
 
In another news development, Sports ministers in the two schools announced a friendly football match between Bangasi Academy and St Joseph Minor Seminary as part-two of their debate competition on Saturday at Villa Football Ground.
