A Missionary Sister working for Solidarity with South Sudan in Rimenze Parish of Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese conducted a three-day training for 50 parishioners of Tombura on herbal medicines.

Sister Joana Meladi said she conducted similar training in other parishes on how to use local tree species in the surroundings to treat diseases like malaria, fever and blood pressure among others, Anisa Radio reported.

She added that most of the herbs are used to prevent diseases from developing into complicated ones, but not for complete cure.

Tombura Parish Priest Fr Santo Gaba praised Sister Meladi for the training that reduces common diseases.

Sister Joana Meladi was accompanied to Tombura Parish by two Azande trained herbalists.
