Enough Project Policy Consultant warned that a framework signed by SPLM factions on how to proceed with intra-party talks with government could threaten inclusivity progress made by Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD.
In a statement CRN obtained, Justine Fleischner explained that if the framework for intra-SPLM dialogue hatched in Arusha, Tanzania is respected, civil society, church leaders and other political parties would be excluded.
He observed that the Intra-SPLM dialogue could provide an avenue for progress on key issues deepening divisions between party leaders.
The Policy Consultant described the progress on party politics in Arusha as good news for the peace process.
South Sudan and Sudan Policy Analyst Akshaya Kumar said if the party factions fulfil their promise that the framework reinforces Ethiopia peace talks the Arusha forum on party politics must tackle issues beyond elite power sharing.
