Lectures on peace negotiations kick off in Juba

The University of Juba and the Rift Valley Institute are organizing the fourth annual series of lectures under the theme: ‘Negotiating peace in South Sudan: Historical agreements and their lessons for the future’.
 
The Lectures on Wednesday discuss 1972 Addis Ababa Agreement, Wunlit Peace Conference of 1999 on Thursday and conclude on Friday with 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
 
The Lectures supported by Danish Institute of International Studies is projected to attract academic practitioners and South Sudan civil society representatives to discuss key issues in South Sudanese national life.
 
The lectures that are opened to the public are expected to be delivered by a number of speakers and panellists including Dr Douglas Johnson, Dr Alfred Sebit Lokuji, Naomi Pendle, John Ashworth, Dr Leben Moro, Dr Judith McCallum, David Deng, Aly Verjee and Dr Luka Biong Deng.
