Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture on Wednesday announced launch of Chamber Quality Award 2014 on December 5 for the best performing companies in South Sudan.
The Chamber Secretary-General Simon Akuei Deng said the Award sponsored by Zain telecommunication and Southern Sudan Beverages Limited companies, aims to encourage durable quality commodity production, legal compliance and employment of nationals.
He added that the Chamber Quality Award also promotes quality investment and widespread distribution of goods and services all over the country.
Southern Sudan Beverages Limited companies Managing Director Ian Alsworth-Elvey warned that consuming imports and operating companies outside South Sudan with foreign employees harms the country’s economy.
He encourages domestic manufacturing and labour recruitment to boost economic development in South Sudan.
The Chamber Quality Award targets innovative companies including media, insurance, banks, internet providers, travel agents, hotels and clearing and forwarding agents.
