A gang of robbers entered South Sudan Agricultural Bank Wau branch on Saturday night and marched away with at least 518,774 South Sudanese Pounds from the treasury.
Acting Wau Municipality Mayor Anthony Charles Nberende confirmed the incident and that they were filing a case against undisclosed person, Voice of Hope reported.
He explained the burglary was well organized, adding that the municipality authority held an urgent security meeting to discuss the matter.
The Acting Mayor said investigation was taking place to expose perpetrators for justice.
Mr Nberende urged citizens to collaborate with authorities to end rampant robbery cases in the municipality.
He told guarding police to avoid drinking alcohol when executing their duties.
