Rumbek Catholic Diocese Civic Education Officer in Tonj South is training 25 teachers and 40 Parent-Teachers Association or PTA on civic education law in the school.
John Maluk Tem said the training covers National Transition Constitution, Dinka Customary Law of Wunalel 1984 and Child Rights, Don Bosco Radio reported.
He explained that teachers are the voice and eyes of communities and chiefs to teach them about child rights and protection at school and home.
Mr Maluk said the government plays the role of conducting civic education training and that churches and NGOs help the state or county authorities in the areas they cannot reach.
the officer urged Greater Tonj communities to get the messages and skills that the 25 teachers and 40 participants got from the training and spread to others in villages.
He advised PTA members to pass the messages they got from the training to children and parents at school and home.
