Western Equatoria State Fire Brigade Department on Wednesday distributed safety equipments to mobile telecommunication companies, Banks and NGOs in Yambio.
Fire Safety and Protection Inspector Henry Malish Louis disclosed to Anisa Radio that they distributed fire extinguishers, safety armament, oxygen and goggles as first priority to save lives of people and prevent disaster.
He urged Companies, NGOs, Banks and shops’ owners to provide fire extinguishers for quick response for fire outbreak in their offices.
Mr Malish cautioned employers and households to employ trained personnel on engineering and electricity in order to save lives of people.
Kenyan Commercial Bank Yambio Branch officer Benty Saba Ombengo thanked the department for the initiative, promising to give skills he got to other staff of the Bank.
Catholic Medical Mission Board Finance Officer Jackson Charles Wandi thanked the state government and appealed for more equipment urging other companies and NGOs to register and receive more equipment for any fire outbreak.
The Brigade Warrant officer confirmed enough trained staff on the ground ready to respond to any fire outbreak in Western Equatoria State.
