Police authorities in Yei River County of Central Equatoria State arrested a 20-year-old South Sudanese lady for kidnapping a four-month-old baby.
Police Chief Inspector Colonel Jeremiah Maker Nai said the culprit and the child were arrested in Tore Payam while heading to Western Equatoria State and that the perpetrator will face the law in the court, Easter Radio reported.
Yei Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba called on residents to cooperate with the security organs to help in tracking down criminals, condemning such practices.
This is the first incident of child kidnapping in Yei since the beginning of the year.
