Unity State continue to face dire humanitarian situation

Small Arms Survey indicated that some 289,300 people of Unity State continue to face dire humanitarian situation as of mid-September and it is difficult for aid agencies to provide to them food and non food supplies.
 
The Survey CRN obtained on Thursday said much of Koch County remains under the control of the SPLA in opposition, the central trade route to Bentiu is blocked and commodities coming from Mayom County are extremely expensive.
 
It indicated that a truck carrying humanitarian supplies hit a land mine on June 6 between Bentiu and Rubkona and aid organizations complain of armed groups looting their supplies at airstrips and at roadblocks.
 
M√©decins Sans Fronti√®res said heavy rainfall displaced thousands of people in Mayom in the beginning of August and that on  August 8, over 40 thousand people were living in flooded conditions at the UNMISS base in Bentiu.
 
It added that heavy rainfall affected the whole state since April resulting to crop failure.
