Western Bahr El Ghazal Deputy Governor threatened to close down Voice of Hope using its new Media Bill, questioning the Radio legality and operation mission in Wau.

Joseph Garang Zachariah said the station should limit its coverage to the state and avoid broadcasting news from other states especially stories related to SPLM in opposition.

He said the Radio should distant from covering issues related to politics and only concentrate on homilies and Gospel music.

Mr Garang described Voice of Hope as a destructive station and that the government would direct it to a right way, criticizing it for broadcasting a story of 500 youths who defected to SPLM in opposition in London in August.

Voice of Hope Radio is one of the Catholic Radio Network stations founded to promote peace and reconciliation with it motto: ‘Seeds for a better future’.
