Egypt expressed its readiness to offer necessary support to the current negotiations to defuse tension in South Sudan.
In a statement CRN obtained on Monday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry expressed worries that continued fighting in the country would waste all gains achieved after its independence.
He said Egypt would respond to any agreement in the peace process satisfactory to South Sudanese.
The Foreign Minister reiterated Egypt’s commitment to back development and reconstruction in the new nation.
